Fraktale selbst basteln!

Habt ihr schon einmal ein Farnblatt, einen Romanesco oder eine Schneeflocke genauer betrachtet? Diese detailreichen Strukturen kann man mit Fraktalen beschreiben! Fraktale entstehen oft aus sehr einfachen Regeln, sind aber überraschend komplex: Umso weiter man hineinzoomt, umso mehr Details findet man, oft sogar viele kleine Kopien des ursprünglichen Objekts. Mathematisch zeichnen sie sich durch eine nicht-ganzzahlige Dimension aus, sie sind also im Unterschied zu regulären Objekten nicht 1-dimensional, 2-dimensional, etc., sondern leben "zwischen" diesen Dimensionen. Aufgrund ihrer Schönheit und Komplexität werden Fraktale auch zB in der Kunst oder Architektur verwendet.
In diesen Workshop werden wir Fraktale näher kennenlernen und ein eigenes Fraktal herstellen.

Math and origami

Origami, the art of paper folding - beautiful objects are created with paper folding techniques only, without the use of scissors and glue.
Do you know that origami is also useful in mathematics? There are some geometrical designs which can not be constructed using Euclid's tools (i.e., using straightedge and compass only), but can be constructed in a simple way using the origami tool.
In this workshop, first you will learn some interesting tricks for the use of origami in math and then you will learn how to construct some beautiful geometrical origami-objects.
Every participant will complete an origami-object to take home.
